rpm issue

hey guys how is everyone in the forum today.  Have a question to ask.  i did the DIY ignition advance and I noticed a substantial difference in power but I also noticed that the rpm"s don't rev down as fast anymore.  its possible that my measuring could be off and maybe got advanced too much.  would that cause my rpms to act this way.  It never did that before I did the advance.
