^ this is your WTB add right?

If so, good luck with the search. Bike shopping is always exciting.

Nope. I'm actually trying to get rid of one..lol
But I do agree about bike shopping. I'm on the lookout for an SV650.

S or N?  1st or 2nd gen?  I've seen a few good deals floating around.. (I'm in South GA), plus I'm on SVrider pretty often, so I'll keep an eye out there as well.

I texted this seller and they said they wanted $700, complete bike minus motor. They also said it was a lien sale so not sure about getting a pink.

No motor? A lien?
Been dropped. Painted, Aftermarket turn signals. Possible dent in the tank.

Run away. Most of it is probably scrap or crap.

On the fence about S or N.
But 2nd gen for sure.

Thanks.

He made one because a used tank was too expensive? There's a big ol' DUH and a redneck bike repair.
Cost of fiberglass (unless stolen) and all the time involved would be much more than $150-$250 for a really really good used tank.
Wasn't there a thread of someone making a fiberglass tank about 2-1/2 years ago?

weedahoe

There was a thread but Im sure it looks a lot better than this one because this one looks thin and no where near finished

Looks nice but the headlight is soooo ugly with the fairing kit. I would try and find a way to fit the F headlight for sure. Or some cool looking after market headlight.
I am into buying bikes that people have given up on and fixing them up!

RIP Patrick Lajko, I miss you man.

No problem!  I love my 04N.  It really is a great bike.  It will do just about anything you ask of it.  There are times I really wish I had an S, but come summer I know I won't miss having a fairing.  Any price range?  If you don't wanna address it here, you can PM me.

I'm sure it's nothing more than a carb clean/float height issue...MAN, what a deal.

Probably not BockinBboy...and if you look closely, there's no muffler...it's a straight pipe and you're right...pods.

The GS models (especially the older ones) are VERY picky regarding mixture.  My initial guess is that it's overly lean.  Not to mention the carb boots are most likely original (30 years old).  I bet those o-rings and rubber are cracked, frayed, and worn down.

After looking more closely, it will need a carb clean, rejet, and new carb boots and O-Rings, and new exhaust.  Straight pipes on a 450 sound like a$$.  Probably 40 bucks in carb parts, and then add some for the exhaust.  A junkyard would have the stock setup for cheap I imagine.

Of course, like the Indy Show, I could paint it green and have an acrylic box full of live scorpions.  That would easily add 4 horsepower.   :D

LOL

I was talking with one of the guys working near that scorpion bikeon sunday, and he said those 'live' scorpions haven't moved since he had seen them friday, haha

There wasn't a heat source for them, so they coulda just been piled together and still for warmth... but still funny
