Anybody running the Bridgestone BT-92? I did a search and got zero hits. Tried several times because I know the search function is really screwy on this site sometimes.

I don't know about the BT-92 but I know a lot of people really love their BT-45's myself included.

I have the bt45 right now and they've been fine. I was just looking to switch to a radial instead of a bias.

I'm due for tires.

Have you considered a Pirelli sport demon?
Some say that he submitted a $20000 expense claim for some gravel

And that if he'd write a letter of condolance he would at least spell your name right.

Wanting something with a longer life.  I put a lot of miles on my bike. Sport touring radial I guess.

the bt45 was a very long wearing tire for me, even mostly commuting. whatever tire you get, enjoy that new tire feeling. it's great !

Where are you?  The BT92 aren't even listed on the B'stone US site but can be found on the B'stone Global and Japan sites, no wonder they aren't found by search here at gstwins.  Looks like worth a try if available where you are, not much available in GS500 size radials here in US.

First radials I tried on my GSs was a Z4/Z2 combo about 10 years ago.  Had a pair of Avon AV45/46 radial tires I liked and they gave good milage and are still available here in US.  Ten years ago I found radials gave much better milage and performance than bias sport touring tires but improvement in the bias tire compounds and profiles since then have reduced the radial advantage.  I'm getting great milage from the Roadriders now but maybe because I'm starting to ride like an old man.   :icon_lol:

Just mounted a 150/60 Shinko 006 rear tire yesterday just because I wanted to try one.  Will give it a try later today.
407,400 miles in 30 years for 13,580 miles/year average.  Started riding 7/21/84 and hung up helmet 8/31/14.

I'm in the US. That's why I'm not seeing them anywhere.

I'm thinking the search is futile. I'm not willing to go any bigger than a 140 width and that's limiting me on the options.

The Z2 rear I ran years ago was a 130/80 and is still available I think because it fits the new Bonnies.  It has an extra deep tread depth and I got 14k miles from it before I started riding like an old man.  Also the Avon AV46 140/80 rear I ran is still available.

I am running BT-92. 110/70/17 front and 140/70/17 rear.

Before swapping to BT92, I used BT45.

The BT-92 has better grip than BT45, but it also wear out faster.

A crash is the result of the rider's mistake, so don't blame the bike

A rider should be able to control the bike but not controlled by the bike, becuase on the track you don't want to DNF and on the road you don't want to lose you licence

Yeah, the more I look the more I'm not caring about having a radial tire. I'd like tire that lasts more than 3000 mi.

I love the look and they have good reviews. About 6000mi on bigger more powerful bikes. Thinking I should get more than that.

I've made a real hash of my sport demon I've worn out the middle and left heaps on the edge but I've gotten 10 000 km out of it and I'm happy I'll be getting another.

I'd be happy with that kind of mileage out of them.

So I ordered my Pirelli Sport Demons 110/70-17 and 140/70-17.

Debated on a 120 or 110 front since they were the exact same price though. Decided I wanted to keep the easy flickability and went with the 110.

I'm already going bigger on the rear. Figure it's better to just change one variable at a time.

I read somewhere on here after doing a search that said you shouldn't use different front and rear tires ( i think the post mentioned that you don't want one tire to be stickier than the other). wouldn't putting a larger rear tire make it 'stickier' just by having a larger contact patch even though the composition was the same as the front? if i still have miles on the front tire, but want to change the back, can i get a different kind of tire? do i really need to get the same model tire? i know this has probably been covered before, but you bringing up using a wider rear with the stock front makes me wonder...

There are motorcycles with much larger front/rear differences.

CBR1000RR has a 120 front and 190 rear.

true, but aren't their suspensions set up for that? it was my understanding that you cant really say, 'well that combo works on such and such a bike, so it will work on my bike.' that was basically my question, if i keep a stock size bt45 on the front, but want to switch to a 130 rear of a different brand would that work? so far, i know not to mix radial and ply bias... a trip to wikipedia will be necessary for me on that part though haha.  :icon_mrgreen:

how does that 006 fit? was interested in the same tire. any pics of it installed? I currently have a square dunlop gt501 140/80 looking at the tire mentioned above. thanks
