Turn Signal Help (Not LED)

So I just replaced my rear turn signals. I used the same flushmounts that I had put on the front a few months ago. At first test, I could get the right to work (both sides), but not the left. My buddy was wiggling the wires around and got the left going for a second, and then all of a sudden nothing. I can't get either side to go. The indicator by the handlebars isnt lighting up in any way either.

Everything seems plugged in fine, and I've checked the fuse as well. Any ideas? What makes all the lights stop, rather than just one side? That's what's concerning me.
