Did my first Valve Check

Both intake valves were in spec, .03 for Intake 1 and .05 for Intake 2.  Should I shim intake 1 to .08? Intake 2 was a 2.58 shim so I can knock it to .08 also with a 2.55.

But both exhaust valves are .15mm. I know gsJack runs .1 to .13 mm, so I am going  to .10 by going up .05mm in shim size. What negative effects should I be noticing due to the slightly excessive valve clearance? It idles a little unsteady, would that be caused by this?

Thanks everyone this place has taught me tons.

you wont get any problem with this extra clearance as its less than the thickness of a human hair .i like extra clearance as i only check mine every 8000 miles .

Clearance above spec is no doubt better than below spec, maintenance-wise.

Anyway I recall somebody here saying that with increased clearance you might want to be a bit extra careful with the throttle, since there's the possibility that revving the engine high for long might toss out a shim. Don't know how likely it may be, though.

You might as well get the intakes to the upper-end of spec while you are in there so you can forget about it for another 4,000-8,000 miles.

Not likely at all...but extra clearance does shorten lift and duration, I would rather hear a little valve clatter then not hear it  :thumb:

Baltimoregs's videos are pretty much it. Personally I would stick in Suzuki's specs that they say.
Some say that he submitted a $20000 expense claim for some gravel

And that if he'd write a letter of condolance he would at least spell your name right.
