haha nice :thumb:

The house has been in need of some sort of pet, so I finally bit the bullet and found a friend with a litter of kittens. Called dibs on the runt of the bunch, a pretty feisty(for a runt) solid gray female kitten. Still haven't settled on a name. She just turn 8 weeks and should be coming home tonight!

A name will come when you first try to call the cat. It will come naturally from your lips and shall be the cat's name forever - whatever word you use.

This is one of my cats STITCH. He looks like s STITCH and can lick his nose like Stitch in Lilo and Stitch.

mister

Careful with the name. A name has an energy about it. An energy and persona the cat will take on.

I should never have called one of my cats "Mental". Another cat we called "Neo" and boy did he grow up thinking he was The One.

True.
Stitch acts like a "Stitch". Brings me toys, birds, mice, etc. Still does not like a belly rub - thinks you want to wrestle. Follows me like a puppy.

Pixie - well, she's the sweet girl. Loves treats, belly rub and likes doing tricks like "Shake", "Other paw", "Roll over", "Sit Up".

Stitch - being a real rascal, doesn't care much for tricks. Shake? Yea, only if I have to for that shrimp or sashimi.

My past cats. Boots: typical cat and did tricks. Slippers? Sweet girl. George? Yep - kind of the dummy, fat, but still did tricks and was a good kitty. Butch - liked to hunt but still cuddled in the evening. All came when called by name. Any cat can learn that if you start when they're young. Yes - cats can do tricks. They're just smarter than dogs because they know doing tricks is kind of lame.

Dogs come because they have nothing on their mind or anything better to do.
Cats: they'll take a message and get back to you when nap time is over.

mister

Cats realize they don't Need to do stuff, so they do not.

Dogs are too stupid to realize and do.

A cat chases something through obstacles, the cat avoids the obstacles. The dog is too dumb to realize there are obstacles and barrels them. Sorry kid in the highchair, over you go.

Yup, all our cats knew their names and would come when called.

People train dogs.

Cats are smarter: they train people.

Stitch knows how to use the kitty door. It is right next to the back door. When I'm around, we will sit (inside or outside) and call to me to open the real door for him. I'm just a doorman for my cats.

I can let him out the front door. He will run around to the back/kitty door and run in. Only to have me let him out the front door again.

I'm a doorman for my cats. At least it's a job.

Agreed.  Our 20 year old cat passed on last October.  Went to the Cincinnati SPCA and bought "Feline #285".  My 3 year old looked at her and started calling the cat Swiper from Dora the Explorer since the cat kept taking things off of the table and playing with them.
Bikeless and Broke at the moment...

Got HIM yesterday! Turns out it was a guy, so we named him what we thought when we first saw the photo- Lawrence. The gf said it fits 'cause he looks like a old black man haha. He's dark with some darker stripes down the back of his neck and sides.

He was the runt because he's the only guy in the litter and was bullied by the girls. We will make him stronger!

Already found a suggestion online for Fancy Feast Elegant Entres :thumb: He loves that stuff.

He's eating well.. The owners told us to keep giving him whole milk, and hold off on hard food for a bit more. I've always heard no milk for kittens, but hell if i know haha. I've been leaving a little bowl of hard food for him to try if he feels like it, but seems to only go after the moist foods.

He'll be getting his vet visit this week or weekend, for sure.
