I know this has been beat to death but i checked the valves and i had the following measurements.
left exhaust valve    -.076mm fit .102 no fit
right exhaust valve  -.038mm fit .051 no fit
left intake valve      -.038mm not fit
right intake valve    -.038mm fit .051 no fit

was going to leave the left exhaust valve,
change right exhaust valve, and right intake valve to 2.20 or 2.25
change left intake to 2.15 or ?
i had 2.60mm in both exhaust valves, 2.65mm in both intakes

i have a 89 with about 26,000 miles

It my math right?

also is that getting to the point that i would have to replace the valves themselves or the buckets, i think im getting to the point that i won't have much adjusting left.

No, your math isn't right.   Line up the decimal points and do it again.

ok now that i feel like an ass :cookoo:

should i leave the left exhaust at .076 was snugg but it did fit, or should i try to make both around .1?

Shims to order
2.55 on the right exhaust

2.50 on the right intake
2.55 on the left intake
or is it better to do the intakes the same, right intake was so tight that the smallest feeler gauge that i had won't fit. that is why i was going to go .05 smaller or should i go smaller yet?

jesus christ on a crutch, ok i did it totally wrong, what is the ideal clearence for exhaust, and intake? is it .1 on exhaust, and and .07 on exhaust.
then i should take the measurement that i got and - it from the ideal then - that number from the shim that is in there to get the new shim thickness.
so.038-.070=.032
.032-2.60=2.568
so in this case i would order a 2.55 shim.

now did i do that right?
guess i can't do math in my head.

Popular around here:
.03-.08mm Intake
.08-.13mm Exhaust

I'm presently at
.03mm In 1
.05mm In 2
.10mm Ex 1
.14mm Ex 2

I rekkon leave your one valve as it and nearly .08, try and open up you other exhaust to near the same, and open up your intakes to round .05

And that if he'd write a letter of condolance he would at least spell your name right.

One size (0.05mm) down on right exhaust and one size down on left intake.  So, move a 2.60 mm from your right exhuast to your left intake, and then get a 2.55 mm for the right exhuast.

Then hand crank it clockwise a few times and recheck.

ok going to order 2 2.55, and maybe 2.50 to use to check the right exhaust. thanks guys.
