Done! :D
It took longer to install the headlight than it did to make it.

While I was working on the bike I decided to do something I've been wanting to do for a while.  I trimmed the mud flap in the back, and lowered the license plate about an inch.

next step... install these bad boys.

good stuff. how's your clearance inside the housing with that shroud? TRS shows that it's one of the smaller ones they carry. did you have to trim it at all?

You have to cut alot.  It's a really big projector.  I have like no space between the assembly lens and the projector lens.  If I were to do anything different to it, I would have cut the hole in the back of the reflective bowl bigger to fit the projector in deeper.

The minis don't require as much work.  Though they will still be really close.

I know this is an old topic, but how did you aim the projector before you epoxies it into the reflector?

I answered this for you in your other thread.

There ya' go man.  Haven't been on here in a while. They did it while it was still on the car.  But I had the headlight out when I aligned mine.  I clamped it to my desk with a piece of paper taped under it.  Then I marked where the headlight was on the piece of paper.  Got the alignment with the halogen bulb, and then got to work with the projector.  once I was ready for the mounting, I put the headlight back where it was, and started mounting it.

I have a GSXR 1000 build thread on here.  I haven't done anything with it yet, but I'm going to be starting my projector retrofit on the Gixxer very soon.  I only need two more parts, and I could get started.

I have the morimoto minis, and I had to cut a good deal of the bottom of my shroud.

leprakong

Yours is probably sunk in more than mine was. Which is better. I still had to cut the bottom of my shroud.

weedahoe

I used a Morimoto 2.8" Bixenon and while the hole for the projector to go through the headlight itself had to be opened up minutely, like yours, the bottom of my shroud had to be "adjusted" (AKA cut and modified) to fit

is hard to tell from these pics; they're the best I have though.

leprakong

oh wow.  Ours are really alike. lol. nice!

ilarson007

Yeah, I spent a lot of time on it, so I was glad to see the dickhole didn't remove it and I got it back. Still nowhere near being able to ride it though.
