claims,
"The stock indicators can be unbolted from the fairing and reused. "

But it does not give any examples of HOW".

Can anyone give some references, please?

Look at the inside of the blinkers. Unscrew the bolt and they come off. Not much else to say about it.

getting them OFF, not a problem.
My question is, how to put them ON again? :)
They currently attach to fairing.
With no fairing... how/what do I attach them to?  I've found no hints on specifics so far.

The stock indicators mount to a headlight front bracket that has side rails for the indicators to bolt into. If you're doing the F to E conversion, you need to buy this new bracket (unless you're going to use the F headlight, then you'd need to make up your own bracket to hold the indicator stalks).

Look at pictures of a stock GS500E and notice how the indicators are mounted under the headlight. :thumb:

Oh, excellent! Thanks :)
I was puzzled, because the pictures I've seen recently of E models, seem to have the indicators on longer "stalks" than mine have, so I got worried things wouldn't work :(

Formori

They just look longer cause the F model is fat and wide, while the E is skinny and makes the stalks look big  :flipoff:

I'm looking at replacing my stock indicators with flush mount, but haven't decided yet what I want to do. :icon_rolleyes:

Phil you'll see where they go when you get your headlight in a couple days.

You'll need to re-route the speedo cable. Right now it goes up the outside side of the left fork then across the front to the speedo. The headlight bracket will interfere with that routing.

It should go behind the left fork and up between the forks to get to the speedo. Do not go through the bracket on the side of the lower left triple.

(We re-routed the speedo cable on petrostar's bike yesterday for that reason.)

PS: The front turn signals are longer on an "E" or the naked 2001-2002 models. The shorties from your "F" will work. You might look for some longer replacements some day.
