Gas dripping from carb breather

I noticed after a 30 mile ride on on the highway and then through town that the end of my carb breather tube had a small drop of gas on the end.  This is the tube that has a T at the top of the carbs and then lays over top of the airbox.  It's hanging down past the airbox.  Is this normal to be a little wet after a ride?  There is no gas in the airbox drain.

That hose is there to vent the float bowl.  If you think about it.  there are two fluids inside that float bowl that need venting.  One is air and one is gasoline.  So depending on the volume, gasoline is not all that strange.  I think your questioin might be more to the effect of how much is normal, and I would say a few drops is fine, half a liter, not so much.

Yep, I understand what the carb breather is there for (to prevent vapor lock in the carbs, allowing gas to flow into the bowl).   So I agree, my question really is how much is normal, and under what circumstances would you expect to see more or less dripping from there.  Is it caused by heat vaporizing the gas and then condensing in the vent tube, by gas sloshing all the way up through the tube, or by negative pressure in the tube sucking gas up through it?

It was a very small amount of gas in my case, so I'm not too worried about it.  Thought I would ask in case anyone else saw the same.

I think all three conditions you mention could be at work here.  Just on general feelings I think the evaporation and condensation theory gets my vote.
