How hard is it to switch the swingarm of a 04 GS500F to 04 GSXR swingarm?

Find out the dimensions of the GSXR swinger and compare them to the GS. There are probably multiple reasons it isn't a bolt-on job: different pivot bolt diameters, mounting widths, etc. But that's all a guess.

I don't recall ever seeing it done, so it may not have been. Somebody has to be the first though!

Does anyone know of a swing arm that does bolt on off a different bike or has anyone found one that they were able to do with minimal alterations?

I searched on the gsxr swap the other day when justwood asked and didn't find much. I think Buddha said it was just for looks in one of the posts. Did find this though which I thought looked hot and I never heard about it before so was a good read. Lots of neat (proven!) ideas there.

Justwood you should do the gsxr swap and make a build out of it,...be the first!

In that case, good luck if you decide to fabricate something, if not, perhaps somebody else will, but i think you should go on ahead and be the first!
