hijack! ... lol...

other day i sold an old Yamaha a55 organ on ebay .. (got it for free 10 years ago but its tidy up time!) .. it sold for $10 ... but the bloke realised it wont fit in his stationwagon  .. so i said it will fit in my ute .. so this arvo i'm taking it 35km to his house ... for $70 fee (transport time/fuel kinda thing) ..  :thumb:

ebay listing fee $0
post no sale auction fee $0
2 email and 3 txt msg $1 maybe
getting paid to $80 all up to deliver the old 'dust collector' and free up space in my shed.. priceless!

yamahonkawazuki

See a titled frame for $250+$100 postage. So tempting - if I didn't already have a licensed frame and Quin to rebuild (yes - I named my latest acquisition QUIN for FIVE - my 5th GS500 (not counting the frame. No name until built)

lets assume you get a frame without papers and you use it to build a bike. what is the procedure to get it registered?

mister

5th GS500, 4 still in possession? Man, that is some serious dedication to the model.

I got word that Junior might be on display at the Seattle International Motorcycle Show in December in the Sound Rider booth. They display about 40 unique bikes each year (no duplicates, either). My work pays off.

In Washington, if the frame has a clean title I just go to the licensing office, pay the fee and sales tax and walk out with a license plate. SUPER SIMPLE in the state of Washington. No inspection unless it is a salvage or wreck title. If no red flags - just pay the fee.
That's what I did for Phenix. That's how I have a couple titled frames with license plates in the Bike Cave for the next builds. So I guess I don't need another frame.

yamahonkawazuki

I'm going to start inventorying parts. Plan to assemble boxes of parts for each bike then list what I don't have. May start Saturday as I need to clean up the Cave. Another frame may be in order. I think I have plenty of triples, clip ons, wheels, and I think engines. Short on newer gauges as I like the 2006+ wiring. I'll talk to you about parts next week.

I always had this idea for a video:
1. Guy in bed gets a call that as guy wants to com over tomorrow and pick up the bike for sale.
2. Ooops: Don't have it (for some reason) WTF? What to do? He paid for it sight unseen.
3. Goes into the Cave in PJ's and robe and slippers. Looks at all the parts in there.
4. Starts to collect parts and lay them out
5. Now:
    a. Stop action of him building the bike
    b. OR he falls asleep and the bike assembles itself
6. Now puts in some gas and as gets ready to hit the starter, the buyer shows up.
7. OMG - what now? Press starter. Bike runs perfectly.
8. Buyer seen riding off into the sunrise.
