I'm starting doing some mods to my 08 GS500F that i got over the summer. Currently in the mail, I have a 9" Delkevic slip-on, a pair of frame- mounted led turn signals, and a 6 Sigma stage 1 jet kit.

What spurred all the modding is that i'm having carb problems and its going to the shop to get them cleaned and balanced. I bought the jet kit and a shop's gonna do all the install and tinkering for me. After that, the exhaust is going to be my own adventure. I have a buddy in my apartment building who works at a Harley dealership as a welder and he's gonna help me out.

I'm also going to do a pretty major fenderectomy so that those signals can get seen from the road.

I haven't seen anyone with the frame mounted signals, so i'll have some pics up after all this work gets done.

do you think you will need a resistor for wiring in those blinkers? let me know how it all goes, im in the market for new blinkers all around these would be a great slim idea.

Tuning the carb then installing a different exhaust? I'd flip those 2 steps so you are tuning the carb for the exhaust that will be used
if yer binders ain't squeakin, you ain't tweakin!

That's all one big step. I'm doing the exhaust then taking it in to a local shop for the Carb work

I got the exhaust on tonight! Since it's 1:00 a.m. local time, I won't be posting any pictures tonight. Tomorrow, I will be putting on the tail lights and doing my fender hack. Pics to follow!

Here are some pictures of the new exhaust. Installing it was pretty easy. The delkevic midpipe had a flare at the end with 6 notches cut out of it, so i had to cut that off and recut the notches. i did all of that using a drop saw with a metal blade in it. the center stand had to come off of the bike because without a stopper on the muffler, it came up and in contact with the chain. The new can didn't interfere with the swingarm at all and it was a very easy and straight forward installation.

I haven't got a dremmel with me at my apartment, so I can't do the fenderectomy and am afraid that with the fender ON, my turn signals won't be seen. However, I unplugged the old turn signal and tested the LEDs. The worked fantastic and only blinked a BIT faster than stock. I don't think i'll need a resistor, but i do need to be really careful about how I attach them so they don't slip around.

That muffler looks so odd being so short but overall looks great

It acutally ended up being shorter looking than I though it would. I think the next size up is a 14" and i would take the shorter pipe over that any day of the week  :thumb:

The exhaust sounds great (when it's not backfiring too bad) but I still need to get the jetting done, so i haven't had it running too long.

I'd love to hear what that exhaust sounds like.

I'm surprised those turn signals are dot approved.
