Rear led Turn Signals

Bought two sets of these to use on my Bandit, front and rear to go with some flush mounts.  The flush mounts were mainly to cover the stalk holes, but alone were not legal from a line of sight requirement.  So these LED strips were to improve the line of sight issues.  They mount up well, no issue with that at all.  The main issue I had is that the wire lead wire is so fine that it is hard to get a good plug to crimp on them.  Had to strip away about a 1/2" of wire to then solder and fold over a few times to then crimp onto.  Once I worked out a solution to the issue it was fine.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure that's why i shorted out my signal relay. they were kind of a pain to strip, fold, and crimp into the receiving wire.

When I did mine, I did like you guys and stripped back and folder over but I soldered mine into new connectors.

On a side note, I bought a LED flasher off ebay ($10) and it worked great.

Yes I also replaced the flasher unit with an electronic version.

This is how I mounted them, front then rear:


Rears are mounted on some black Al' angle left over from when we replaced our security doors.  Screwed up to the back of the number plate and strip LEDs stuck either side.  As a single install they satisfy all Australian roadworthy requirements for rear mounts.

how many watts is a single led light?

Appr. 0.7 watts (assuming 50ma drive current)
