Warm hands

I plan to ride all winter unless it's snowing, so I would appreciate opinions from those of you who have already settled this debate for yourselves.  From what I've read, heated gloves work better than heated grips.  Please feel free to weigh in with opinions and specific brands you've been happy with.

A pair of warm gloves with a pair of rubber dish washing gloves underneath really keeps the wind out. Works for shortish rides at least.

I have messed around with the guards that block the wind from your hands and if you can find some that work for your bike they doo a good job. Of course the look stupid... but who cares?

i  have a pair of glove liners that i wear under my thick "winter" gloves. just having that extra liner in there helps tons. i'd rather not deal with extra wires and stuff because i would simply forget about them when getting off the bike.

I rode a bike (BMW) with heated grips - and - barkbusters to deflect the wind. My hands froze. Were colder than riding my naked 919 up the highway to take the BMW for a spin.

Some kind of wind breaker works wonders. Last year I cut a 2 liter bottle in half vertically and fashioned them to the bars with thin wire. The bottle worked great and I rode until the snow fell.

I have wind deflectors and heated grips on my bike. I like that I can wear thinner gloves than I normally would w/o this setup.
I also have some super warm motorcycle specific waterproof winter gloves for when it gets super cold.

Never will I wear heated gloves or clothing. I don't like the idea or hassel of being wired to my bike.

For riding in the super cold, a combination of heated grips and hippo hands should be the best solution.

Warm hands?  Not really, but it's bearable for me.

I ride all winter as long as the roads are clear of ice & snow, and I'll be honest, my fingers take a beating. I have a pair of GoreTex KLIM snowmobile gloves, and they work well, but on really cold mornings (below 32 degrees), I do stop occasionally and warm my hands on the motor - usually at the half-way point of my 35 mile commute.  So I'm not completely satisfied, but it is bearable. I've been thinking about some Hippo hands to break the wind; I think that would be a huge help.

I rode in one morning - it was 10 F. Pretty damn cold, and I was really happy it wasn't a windy day.

Good luck, and get ready for some looks from cagers who think you are totally insane. You won't be waving to many bikers in the winter; only fellow members of our nuthouse...

Good quality winter gloves and heated grips do wonders, my winter gloves do so well on their own my hands come our sweaty.
