Who waves at Scooters and mopeds??

I do-sure there just like me
No way-
Start to wave cuz I can't tell it's a scooter until it's too late

BassWoW

Running a poll here.

Who waves to mopeds and the like??

Read an article about people going to wave and the flipping the finger :P

I always mess up and forget that they are a moped before I even notice.

Scooter people are kind of smug - like Prius owners.

It's kinda silly to ride a scooter and not wave at other scooters? People that have problems with scooters are just overcompensating for some kind of problem with their own sexual orientation, in other words...real men don't mind being seen on a scooter or waving at them  :whisper:

I voted NO WAY, BUT you would need to define scooter!
I have and do wave at the larger scooter riders eg 650 bergman but do not wave at the smaller scooter riders because here you dont need a bike license to ride most of the ones you see on the road here (less than 100cc)
I am not interested in anything you have to say
Don't bother talking to me, I will not answer you

Mopeds have pedals, scooters don't....so you wave at your dad then?

I wave. I like to think they either didnt have enough funds at the time to get something bigger or they were too scared to get something bigger and wanted to stay in their comfort zone until they are ready to move up with us (or past us....LOL)

I absolutely do. If you have never ridden a scooter, try it. Compared to riding any kind of "normal" motorcycle, it'll mess you all up. The weight feels different, it handles very differently, you naturally swing your leg off the back seat upon dismount out of habit, etc, etc. Anybody that can ride a scooter (or moped for that matter) on a regular basis has my respect.

But for what it's worth, I wave at everybody on less than 4 wheels.

Even small children in big wheels? I knew there was a reason mamma said don't talk to strangers ;)

I wave at anyone not in a cage.  They are out enjoying the open road and the elements just like us riders.  I feel like the wave signifies something greater than qualifying another rider they are as 'cool' as yourself.  It means: be safe out there. Enjoy the road. Have a good ride... Etc... To me it's a reminder of the risk that I am rider surrounded by cages... Not just that I'm part of some cool club that exclusively or selectively waves at each other.

The small moped (col) scooter things riders....

... invariably wear an open faced helmet and whatever office clothes they will be in that day - office pants, plain shoes, shirt for men; skirts, heels, etc., for women.

They weave in and out of slow moving traffic like they are impervious to coming off and generally disobey a lot of road rules. They hug the curb cause traffic goes faster than them, and in so doing invite cars to squeeze by them and the oncoming traffic. And in this country they do not need a motorcycle license to ride one.

These types get nothing from me whatsoever.
