Hello, my name is Maximiliano, I'm from Argentina and for two years I have a 1993 Suzuki GS 500 EP ....

I present the bike when I went to get

with my father about to leave for home, we were short walk 600 kilometers

and at home

and I must admit that at the first exit to Route surprised me the smooth ride is a beautiful bike

Until here everything was beautiful, but the years did damage and neglect of previous owners were beginning to look at the bike so I decided to dismantle it entirely replace him and the goal is between 80% and 90% of the parts for me so a bike almost new

I apologize for the grammar but the fault of google translator jajajaj it would be impossible for me to post here as well as translate your post

Watevaman

Good looking bike. Pretty clean for a 1993. I can understand wanting to redo everything. My bike is a 1990 and it was looking terrible when I got it, but I'm slowly cleaning it up.

No problems with your English. If the translator works, no shame in using it.
Bike: 1990 GS500E (Vance & Hines full system, K&N Lunchbox, BM Clubmaster bars, Katana rear shock, 0.90 Sonic Springs), 2000 ZRX1100 (Kerker slip-on)
Location: Virginia

thank you very much for your words, I did not know if encouraged to write lol but hey here I am: p

The first thing was the instrumental restore it was pretty ugly

so was before starting work

this is what I'm after disarming

the idea was to replace the needles and black faces, but not get them here in Argentina, I had no choice but to use them again

and this was finally not a wonderful job but remained better than before lol

Gauges look much better. Good Job. Have you considered putting red LED's behind them? that would look sharp.

Here is a pic of mine, there blue but you will get the idea.

Thanks man! beautiful bike you have! to envy

My idea in this project is to create a single GS, with its own style... but in their lines more basic remains the old GS, is not easy to achieve a balance between everything... but little by little is achieving!

Soon upload more photos q I have many!

maxkart

Here photos of my early work with paint. painting q I use is the PPG mark BILAYER

before

After sanding

painted with primer

fixing details

black paint and varnish

freshly painted

48 hours later, first contact with the sunlight... but unpolished yet

I hope you like the photos!

rharding91

Did you photoshop all those light marks on the new paint in? haha looks amazing though, makes me want to repaint mine. how long did it take you total to do all that?

codajastal

I am not interested in anything you have to say
Don't bother talking to me, I will not answer you

maxkart

What time is is to prepare the surface... sanding... can be very very very very tedious... I take 2 days only sanding to make their best to paint... (I should clarify that I'm not painter or anything like, spend a few days watching videos of how to paint and encouraged me to do it... There is no better reward than the congratulations of others when they see your work!)

Thank you!

lol many told me that whether it is photoshop lol

the truth is that with luck I use pc to surf the internet xD

I leave you some pictures of the stator cover polished by hand

The pickup cover

soon more photos!

BockinBboy

Just a few more angles, and we will be able to piece together all of Argentina with the reflection from those polished surfaces!

BockinBboy

Never apologize for the amount of pictures, this is exactly what we crave! I can't wait to see how this turns out.

thank you very much for your comments! I promise to keep uploading photos to complete the project "Blackbird" .... the project is currently stalled .... the financial situation is not the best, plus they decided to change the "traditional" style of gs for something more streetfighter.... probably the most faithful followers of the original, did not like the idea. My idea is to take it to a more radical, esthetically speaking

When it starts to tell them about mechanical insurance reforms complicate the translation much but will try to do my best ....

I am currently in the process of shopping, most in USA via ebay .......

Greetings from Argentina

Funderb

this is awesome. those covers are so incredibly bright you can barely discern the color. that is some hard work, my friend.

looking forward to seeing more updates as the project continues. Good luck pulling money together for the bike, I know mine frequently empties my wallet even without me knowing.

time to start cleaning the engine!

would be a mission impossible!

so was all dirty with years of accumulated dirt

my ace in the hole ..... degreaser ..... is useless!

over half an hour scrubbing and dirt not removed ...... and began to curse in other languages haha

and now with nothing to lose ..... try a brush and oil gas

and already seeing results, I gave a second washing

What did  you use for polishing the side covers? They look really good.

A little late....   but.....  when I repaint the clips for the handle bars, I first file off the seam from the metal casting process so they are smooth all the way around. Though they do look really good.

Just for reference on color and appearance, here is what a brand new set of 1989 clip-ons look like. I found a new set at a bike warehouse in Israel a few months ago.
