Meanwhile, over in India, what a jolly time Suzuki is having in its Maruti plants. Did ya see the one about their HR manager being burnt to death? Now that's industrial relations for ya......

I love it ... I'd have burnt the whole factory ... Or well, not, India is a huge market. Like china.

I hate companies that dont listen to their customers.
In India we used to settle that with sticks and stones. They cannot hide behind their gated communities and security.

Anyway I am glad suzuki's GS500 as well as a few other bikes came so close to hitting the mark ...
However there is still the frustration that they could have been so much more ...

Suzuki in 89 put the GS500 on the market targeted @ beginners, young people and women.
However by the time the gas prices started getting to where people would buy a bike to save on gas ... sadly they refused to step up to the plate ... instead staying with the tired old theme.

Worse yet, they want to sell parts to existing owners and dont care about the new needs of the people on the horizon.

In spite of that need to sell us plastic when we drop it ... no one buys tires and chains from suzuki ... they should have slapped a 15 rear on it, and belt.

They should also have made it water cooled and 4 valve fuel injected ...

They should have done that same thing with the sv650 and the 1000. I am near about certain parallel twins are cheaper to make than V twins. And FI cheaper than carbs ...

Cool.

No I am so far removed from India, what I hear about India is on NPR, that's about it.

BTW anytime they say "Hunta" for Junta ... I cringe. J is not H in aisan languages. Its Jay, J. In eastern europe J is Y.

Cool.
