I KNOW A FEW PEOPLE THAT USE CATROL GTX IN THEIR MOTORCYCLES, THE SAME STUFF THAT GOES INTO CARS, HAS ANYONE DONE THIS WITH THEIR GS?

jestercinti

This has been talked about...and talked about...and talked about... :technical:

You will find your answers here:  http://gstwins.com/gsboard/index.php?topic=62112.0

Personally, I use this:

Yep, just make sure you don't get the stuff with friction modifiers.
Bike: 1990 GS500E (Vance & Hines full system, K&N Lunchbox, BM Clubmaster bars, Katana rear shock, 0.90 Sonic Springs), 2000 ZRX1100 (Kerker slip-on)
Location: Virginia

Call me naive but...
Why the heck would anyone put anything other than what the manufacturer recommends (in the owner's manual) in their machine?

Just wondering  :dunno_black:

Some say that he submitted a $20000 expense claim for some gravel

And that if he'd write a letter of condolance he would at least spell your name right.

I like your style BassWoW.
But I will tell you this: Use ONLY motorcycle oil in your motorcycle.
Even cheap motorcycle oil is safer with a wet-clutch bike (like your GS500) than any automobile oil.

BTW: Is Farmington, New Hampshire located anywhere near the Queensland, Australia area?
I'm just asking because good location is everything here at GStwins.

I hope I'm not missing a joke, but I do believe New Hampshire is half way across the world, and in the wrong hemisphere from Australia...

Speaking of oil, I've been using clarified butter to cook with. It's different.

Stick with real milk. Of course, for the puritans it needs to be permeat free.

puritans would drink only milk directly from the cow, assuming you call drinking another animals excess lactate product normal, maybe the puritans need to separate. :icon_confused:

Well mustang,
That answers the question.
Thank you Sir.

Also...
Mister,
What (cheap) motor oil would you recommend? In your GS, that is.

TOG: Drink milk? Are you nuts. We don't Drink the milk. That'd be silly. We put it in the handlebars :thumb: C'mon man, get with the program, eh?

Ej. Cheap oil? Not in my bike. Cheapest I would put in is Motul 5100. 300v is better. And now I have Mobile racing 4t. dang that stuff is pricey but so smooth. BTW, Motul smells nice, just saying.

Once my hoard of Castrol runs out, I'm switching to snake oil.

And I only use Goat's milk in my handlebars.  C'mon people, everyone knows that goat's milk is far superior :icon_rolleyes:
