no its not called any of those, but i have called it a few choice names when my old eyes where tired and finger where cold.

it is a tool for splicing lines and building tapered leaders of diferent diameter lines. pic below

mmmhmmm... but for what hobby or industry? ...

a blunt chisel is also a multi use pry tool  ;)

No clue...Wood crafting/sculpting? All I know is it looks very similar to a giant metal version of the tool I use to fix cell phones

welll... it does scrape .. in fact scraping is an important part of its various tasks... but .. gaskets.. no.... like a gasket possibly .. but organic in nature...

and yes in some countries it would be used on wooden items... however i know more modern items they are made from plastics and polymers ...

in ancient times this tool would have been almost useless .. as the equipment it works with would have been ... irregular shapes ..

there has been another reference to the hobby/industry in this very thread!!

a scraper or tool used in hobbies/woodcrafting? maybe used to remove burrs or edges from joined pieces? or dovetails etc?
hell i cant wait til my turn to post a ball bearing ive got. yall will NEVER be able to guess its use.  :icon_twisted:

i'll aim you a little Yama... woodcrafting or carpentry ... no...

removing burrs/gunk or scraping away detritus ... yes ..

levering lifting ..... yes...

why dont you get your sherlock pipe out and have a few puffs .... maybe the aromatic smoke will calm you and clear your mind... or make you bustle away from the nasty stuff!! ....  ;)
