As awesome as it would be to get to design and build something that cool, sadly, No...

Lets say you also may have one of these on your bike / in your car being used for a totally different application

Gearless socket adapter. I have one similar from working on the suspension in my friends escort.
If god intended us to drink beer, he would have given us stomachs.

adidasguy

a RIGHT ANGLE gear-less socket adapter.

OK. Make it something with cats. Or not with cats.

Apologies, I should have mentioned the angle. I'm at work so I will go for a stroll and I'm sure I can find something soon.

EDIT: Here it is, apologies to Adidas, not cat related.

The bottle cap is there for size reference.

Plunger switch of some sort for mounting into timber?

It DOES mount into wood, or into a plastic housing. I should mention that the little white peice on the end doesn't move, but the silver ring around it is magnetic.

Janx101

ahh ok.. so .. something closes against the plastic nub .. the ring slips out to magnet itself to a 'striker' plate .. and something inside moves to tell something else that ''the door" is shut and machinery safe to operate?

:icon_question:

Kiwingenuity

Ah - is it a reed switch for security monitoring?

The first part is correct, but it is not in any way electric.
