Hmm,  HAARP uses 3.6MW of power, am sure they have at least one of these on the main supply into the site.. as will you find one of these in most substations around the world.

That video is actually a bus disconnector being opened after a circuit breaker failed. Usually you have a disconnector on either side of a circuit breaker (in case it fails) as well as earth switches (depending on the layout of the bus work) to make it safe after it is isolated.  I can relate to the statement of surprise at the end of the video though...

We used to have air blast breakers that used high pressure jets of air to extinguish the arc, but now days everything new is filled with SF6 which quenches arcs very quickly - lot smaller physically for the same power rating.

Wasn't feeling well. the kidneys acting up. debating on going to ER but theyre as worthless as fun bags on a bull. so am adopting a wait and see attitude. feeing slightly better.  Soo to keep janx from having his PMS attack  :icon_eek:  :kiss3:  :cheers: heres the pic lol no its not the dying g5 mouse lol.  its behind it to the left.
