Hi,

I've found someone parting out a 2001 SV650 and the tail light, windshield, exhaust were three things that i noticed.

Any ideas if these parts will fit on a 2001 GS500E?

I'm not so concerned about the windshield as I don't necessarily need one. I'm more curious about the exhaust and possibly tail light (if it looks cooler).

Anyone know how the exhaust will affect the sound/performance? I'm expecting it will be better but I'm wondering if a car rejet will address it or if i just shouldn't go down this road at all...

anyone else do these mods?

thanks!

edit: i don't have any pics to share. I've asked. I'll post as soon as i get them if i do.
2000 GS500E 8700 Miles. Dumped once. Lowered apparently. has 9400 miles as of 12/12

i dont see why the windscreen wouldn't work. maybe mod a few brackets to get everything right and you'll probably be good to go.

the tail light would work with splicing the needed wires together. as for mounting it, im not sure how well it would do in the tail section of the GS. modded brackets would probably have to be made for that too, but idk.

SV exhausts are generally pretty quiet unless the baffle has been yanked out. most of the sound you hear from an SV comes from the engine/airbox. i would imagine things would be very quiet if it were put on a GS. as with the other two, some one off mods would need to be manufactured to make it work. if the baffle has been removed, im sure some rejetting would be necessary, but if it's kept in it may keep the needed back-pressure to make things work. i guess the only way to find out would be to put it on and ride it to see what kind of results you get.
