Hey guys it's been awhile! School has me crazy with no free time. I bought my friend a car stereo for Christmas everything worked great except the radio tuner could barely get one station in but BT, AUX, and IPOD all worked. This morning I tried putting in a filter and the HU would not turn on. I assumed it was my bad soddering and took it back off. Since, time was short I was going to pop the original HU that worked upon removal back in so she could have radio while I was troubleshooting or returning the BT one. When I hooked it up it also would not turn on! I do get the anti-theft light but nothing else. My only conclusion is something on the car side of the harness.  :dunno_white:

BTW it is a 2004 Honda Odyssey.

check the antenna, is it a wire antenna on fender/roof or in window.

hmmm perhaps the antenna routed through some time of filter on the audio system ( factory) or an onboard amplifier

If the security light is on, maybe you should look to see how to reset the unit? Maybe it thinks it was stolen?

When in doubt, pull it out and tie the red+yellow together and take it to 12v and blk to ground. At that time, it should turn on

to check the aftermarket HU, take a coathanger, and stick the end of it into the spot where the antenna plugs in. GENTLY mary ;) if all is well most radio stations will come in. that will tell if there is some sort of interface between the antenna and the HU

Turns out the radio part was burnt in the HU of the Dual, as far as the OEM one a fuse had blown. An ACC one I had checked the "radio" one and it was good but found it on a forum. Oh how I love forums! When the new Dual comes in I'll try it if I'm still having issues Xune I'll be making a visit!

I'm a fan of the Sony unit in my F150. I wouldn't run their speakers, but they make a good deck if you're on a $100 budget. Blows Dual out of the water. I used to run a Dual 300w 2ch amp bridged for my 10, and had no issues with that at all. Replaced it with a bigger monoblock I got for free, and the dual amp is still sitting happily in my buddy's Silverado pushing 2 Selenium 8" mid range speakers
