Honda announced it about a week ago. I like it. I've always wanted a "new" bike that I know hasn't been tampered/neglected by a previous owner. Unfortunately, a new bike purchase is far from reality in my standing.

What do you guys think about it?

Closest thing to a modern GS500 I've seen yet.  Wheelbase, seat height, curb weight are all almost identical.  Naked CB500F would be my choice of the three.  Wating to see the new 2013 GW250, almost as close and probably more my speed now.  If I was still a kid of 70 racing thru the mountain twisties the new Honda 500 would be my choice.

I do like the CB500... I knew it was very similar, but didn't realize how close they are!

It's nice.. but they announced it about three months ago.   :thumb:  Here's a decent video to give you an idea of what it's actually like..

I liked it.
The only 500cc standard bike around.

Kinda makes the GS500 look kinda lame huh? This is what Suzuki should have done with the GS years ago. They snooze they lose.

Yup, I prefer the CBF. But interesting to see if Suzuki releases a 500cc version of their new 250. be interesting to see if Honda keeps their CB400 available to us downunder.

Do you know what the CBR500 retail for here in OZ?

Zethioth

My bad, they did announce it a while ago. But they are just now starting to sell them, correct?

I recall something like $4800 to $5500 depending on fairing or naked. They have 3 models. Naked, bikini and burkha.
Something like April delivery.

Just spoke to a Honda Salesman...

We won't see it in Australia until about March 2013. He said as far as he knows they will not be killing off the CB400 though there will be a price reduction and he think the new 500 might be in the $8,500 range - although, that could also have been the new price for the CB400, he wasn't clear which bike would be in that price. PLUS, he thinks we will only be getting the F and R version ...

So far $8,500 in Australia. But we'll know more in a month when it hits our stores. Then we can update with confirmed prices.
