Does the 500 have an external adjuster for the cam chain? I remember my old GS450 having a lock nut/screw set-up but the one on my '97 doesn't look the same. Thanks.

It's automatic, doesn't need adjustment.
407,400 miles in 30 years for 13,580 miles/year average.  Started riding 7/21/84 and hung up helmet 8/31/14.

A.P.E. makes a manual cam chain tensioner that fits the 500 if you prefer that type.
