Funny and no disrespect, but I just helped (at my job) take a bunch of office furniture to the dump. When we dropped it 8ft into the dumpster it fell apart in a very destructive way. These where very heavy desks (at least 300+lbs). It was made of very thick particle board with real wood trim. It took 2 of us to lift it off the back of the truck and push it in. That cheap particle board was crushed under it's own weight. There where a couple real wood pieces that fell in and stayed intact. The wood ones in good shape found their way home to my house.

oops i forgot...

I move peoples furniture... houses , offices, new items from stores etc .. 25+ years and counting...

and Puma .. office furniture eh!? ... hrrrmm... now there is an industry that needs some standardization!! .. you fellas all use different bolts and lock tabs and formats and setups ...

old saying around my work .. "Architects and Furniture makers should be made to spend at least 12 months part time getting work experience on a furniture removal truck.... it'd save a whole heap of dramas with access and maneuverability!!" ..  ;) ;) ;) :thumb:

and now i notice pliskin is having a mention too!!... LOL ..

you aint being picked on Puma!!! ... its just like your current career/job ... bit like a parking cop... neccessary but people will have issues!!  :icon_lol: :icon_lol: :icon_lol: :icon_lol:

Cheap crap made to look good?  :icon_mrgreen: The stuff we make here is mostly custom made to order. A simple cubicle style desk is like $30k. We don't use particle board and have what im told are very "unique and unorthodox" methods of construction.

Valid on the standardization. Some companies cant even maintain a standard on their own products. As far as the work experience part goes, I may be heading to NY in a couple weeks on my first install. Its a massive order and I am going to oversee, help install, and on-the-fly solve any issues that may arise. This is in no way my plan for a career, I'm basically putting in my time for the work experience until I can get in somewhere doing new product development. Here I solve the problems the people above either cant, or are too lazy to.

I just sort of "fell" into the furniture world. I was looking for a job, they called, i accepted. Always looking for bigger, better things. I use exactly zero of my certifications here.

Haha, unlike many of my classmates, I had to bust my ass to get through school. I worked 50-60 hr weeks at a hydraulics factory. Im not afraid of a little hard work, and I can dish back any shaZam! tossed my way.

I actually meant that I'm looking for a new job.  A new carriage might be interesting though...but I'm not sure how comfortable it would be during the summer out here.
