been there done that ( or a version thereof) most of those "field repairs" are still functional to this day. ( my cb750 kart one prime example. ( guy i sold it to years ago. it stlil works)

another version of this repair, if the thing is stripped, ( the shifter or the arm or whatever is take a dremel, cut grooves into it, to allow it to bite . or if you wanna overdo it, lol, take dremel and cut keyways into both pieces. make hard steel keys.

JBWELD works too.  Like my dad says...if an auto parts store does not sell JBWELD, it's not an auto pars store.

this is true. wonder though if this makes the shaft non removable for repairs later on?

probably...but it looks like the shifter won't be easy to remove the way he has it rigged either.

Removal is as easy as it normally was. Nail just fall out as it slides off.

I would not be using JPWeld as its pretty much permanent whereas this is not but will last a fooking long time
