Hello, im looking for a set of dampers for my gauge cluster. The ones that sit between the clocks and the bracket. My gauges came without and my local dealership doesn't carry them/wont order them.

Anyone got a spare set they can part with?

They are very cheap
Adidas may help but have you tried fleabay
yet
I am not interested in anything you have to say
Don't bother talking to me, I will not answer you

PatheticPuma

tried the fleabay, with a few different search parameters. Just thought I'd see if any twinners wanted my money instead of a random internet company.

They are never any good as used parts.
I buy new ones from my dealer. I support my dealer so I will continue to have a dealer.
As a matter of habbit, I keep a few around always. When working on older bikes, it is nice to replace hard crusty stuff with soft new rubber.

If you have a local favorite dealer, buy there and show support. For something that small. $8-$15 postage to save a dollar doesn't make sense.

FYI: Old ones sometimes have to be scraped off! and there is no difference between the one for the speedo and the one for the tach. There's always a notch for a trip meter knob.

There is only one suzuki dealer local to me, they don't stock them and they "can't" order them according to the parts dept. Oh well, I will just order them online. Partzilla only charges $1.75 shipping for the pair.

They won't order a part for a 2009 GS500?
34288-01D20 (replaces 34288-01DA0)

We know same part 1989 to present. Not much of a dealer if they won't do that. $5.85 list price each.

FYI: We here on gstwins are smarter than most dealer when it comes to parts compatibility. if ever my dealer says they can't get a part, I tell them to look on the 2009 parts list. Sure some 89 parts are not around, but the 2009 part is a slightly updated same-thingy-part for most things.

:dunno_black: Didnt even think about asking for the newer year. I gave him the number shown on the 91 diagram. He just said its never been ordered, so they wouldn't. Already ordered from partzilla,

Adidas, in an attempt to make this thread a total waste, you dont happen to have a spare starter cover do you? The bike I got from gsnoob500e, came without. Forgot to mention I needed one in the first post.

That black thing over the starter motor? Probably have a few. At least one from the motors I'm scrapping.

Out of curiosity, which local dealer are you going through?

It seems it has become necessary to qualify my posts:

Shawmut Hills, the only local dealer I could find.

If you're looking for parts in the GR area, I've found that using partspitstop.com is a great way to go. Parts Pit Stop is the online arm of Village Motorsports on Plainfield just north of 4 Mile Rd. Pricing is comparable to Partzilla, but shipping is $0.00 if you pick up at the parts counter in the store. I've ordered a few parts for my 2007 through them without any issues or complaints about never having ordered them before. If it's listed as available on their site, they'll order it.

BTW - their price for 34288-01D20 noted a few posts up is $4.80. (http://www.partspitstop.com/pages/ECommerce/ViewCart?returnUrl=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.partspitstop.com%2Fpages%2Foemparts%23%2Fs%2FSUZ%2F%2F34288-01D20)

Fine print:

I am in no way employed or compensated by Village Motorsports. Just a satisfied customer.

I just ordered 2 of these for $10 total from Motorsport.com. Here's a link for a 2009 (I think that's what you have). They usually source parts from dealers or other sources, then ship to you within a few days of your initial order date.

Huh. For "not a Suzuki Dealer", they are certainly offering a lot of new Suzuki motorcycles for sale. And mayhaps they should remove the Suzuki logo from their sign out front.....

I have heard that they don't always hire the sharpest crayons in the box, if you know what I mean.
