No, that is a REAL 0.7 miles. New old stock speedo I happened to find over a year ago - I couldn't pass up on one for a super good price.

Just finished the mod for starting in neutral without holding in clutch lever. Sweet! I'm going to make that mod on all my bikes.
(If not in neutral, you must hold in the clutch.)

Speedo from Greece, as is the wiring harness, hand controls and a few other things that are NOS. Good prices there and fast shipping.
This bike has parts from over 6 countries and encompasses 1989-2013 for the vintage of the parts (Motad was made this year in the UK, rear fender bought new and Gimbel rear sets new). Rear hugger from Canada. Billet fork brace.

I'll have to compile a list of where the parts came from. So interesting to discover minor differences in parts. There are 2 different lengths of speedo cable! Go figure?

Correction to earlier post: it is a real 0.7 KM (not miles, sorry).

I so can't wait until Saturday. I hope for good weather to fill the brakes and get the bike on the road for a week of road testing before the Huskies parts go on. Plan is oil change, valve adjustment (was done, but re-check after 100km as the motor has sat for 2 or more years) and a final washing of all parts then the good parts go on. Have to get rims to the dealer for bearings and rubber. Have Sport Demons and new bearings.

It is so close now.

Liking this build!

Hopefully soon, I'm sourcing a frame and doing a ground-up build...

Will your new bike include an integral fire suppression system?

You gunna be at the cave Saturday? I don't have the clip ons yet, but we can swap the oil and what not.

RIP Patrick Lajko, I miss you man.

Yes - I will be working and hopefully get HUHSKY outside and running if the weather is good.

I just had to see how the tail looks. I have 2 different tails: a Gimbel seat and the OEM with a gel seat.

I also prefer the Gimbel solo seat. But while things were being painted, it made sense to paint a stock tail set so I have a choice of tails.

Cleaned up wiring. Airbox in. Put battery on the balance charger for a while since I've been using it and the bike has not been running for any time to charge it. (LiFe batteries have 4 internal cells. A balance charger reads each cell and charges all cells to the same voltage for optimum performance and life)

Re-keyed the seat lock to match the ignition. Put in the "Back-Off" brake light flasher.

I bit the bullet and ordered new OEM brake rotors. I couldn't see used rotors on pretty purple wheels. When they come in next week I'll take the rims, tires and new bearings to Aurora Suzuki. When I ordered the rotors, I saw it was cheaper on Partzilla. Aurora does price matching, no shipping and they tell me when they will come in & where the warehouse is they are coming from. Smart ontheir part to pricematch on-line prices to keep my business. (They still make money.)

Tomorrow is fuel lines and brake fluid and Saturday is road testing!

Quitting for the night.

I just can't stop working. I must get some sleep.

Fitting the fairing is going OK. There is a lower front piece that will have to be trimmed to fit around the exhaust (Motad pipes are a little farther out just like V&H pipes, compared to stock,  so not unexpected or nothing I haven't done before).

This is a spare fairing I'm using to fit the brackets and remember how it all goes together. I don't want to fudge up the good parts.

This fairing looks hot. Love how it extends back and even bolts to the rider peg mounts. Side stand goes through the fairing!

I'm so anxious to have him finished but there must be a week of road testing with the junk fairings and junk tank before all the good stuff goes on. Anyway, an extra week of curing of the clear coat on them is a good thing.

Front fender will go on when the finished purple wheels with Sport Demons go on.

Dagon It Adidas! There is the 28v early model tank I was looking for a year or so ago!!! Makes me not want to take the decals off my rear 28v plastics. I miss the naked E look for originality... Red and white...
