I wouldn't be terribly worried about .5kg either. Your body weight naturally fluctuates. At the gym, I can lose up to 2kg in waterweight only to drink some water and gain it all back.

You guys are right even ej. But no will not partake of a kerosene Enema.

Nextdoor neighbors had a party last night. Funny as, as a bunch of 60 year olds and their 60 year old friends tried to have a sing along to Build Me Up Buttercup...

Having trouble with this new neck die I've crushed 2 cases the instructions say to take the de capper out and screw the die in till the neck is re sized then install the de capper till it just dislodges the primer. I've done that but it crushes the case neck and yeah it's doing my head in

You lubing the edge of the mouth of neck with anything? ... Graphite powder is good!

Use a deprimed case to start with ... Lube the neck with graphite or Teflon

Run the shell up on the press to full height ... Wind the neck die down to meet the neck ... Then back the press down a little ... Wind the die down a turn or two maybe ... Run the shell up again and see how far down the neck.. Back it off and repeat ... You DON'T want to have it slam the shoulder at base of neck... Once the height is good Lock it in ... Then wind the deprimer in but leave it movable ... Run the case up ... And wind the top of the deprimer rod/screw down till it bottoms on the inside of shell .. Then back it up a few mm ... Lock it in ... Now gently run a few cases through to check ...

Also ... Check your brass length ... It's not always same ... Sooner or later you will need to FLRS and case trim ... You got a trimmer?

Another also.. You got a good de-burr tool? ...

Lube the neck of every 3rd to 5th shell ... You don't want it too slidey or it just wastes lube and gets mucky .. But you definately don't want to get hung up on the expander either!!

Lubing necks ... Half a teaspoon of graphite or Teflon powder in about a meadow lea lid size thing.... Shake it a little so it's 1 or 2 mm deep... Just tap the neck into the thin layer .. Then tap your fingers on the side of shell... Like ashing a ciggie .. You only need a tiny bit.. But you do need it!

Also ... When you eventually FLRS ... DON'T over lube the cases with that clear gel stuff ... It can hydroform a ding into the shoulder or body of shell ... Still usable but a PITA

Is that far enough down the neck?

The grey line at base of neck? ... Yeah just right ...

If its the """"" marks a third of the way down then no ...

What's the bright line halfway down the case?

... And this is you new Norma brass ... Not yet fire formed yeah?

slipperymongoose

Yep the grey line from the neck lube. I'm using imperial dry neck lube. And imperial sizing wax for full length. It's once fired Norma brass

You haven't FLRS them already have you? ... Norma should be ok for 3 or 4 runs ... Unless you got them hellfire hot loaded! ... Like flattened out hard primers ...

Norma is good brass .. But thick ... If you can get PMC brass that's probably the easiest to work with  :thumb:

slipperymongoose

Surprisingly yes I do have pmc brass lol that's the last lot I was using before I was forced to stop shooting. Turns out I've bought a lot of mixed brass Norma and Remington so separated them. I FLRS the Norma cause the neck die wasnt workin out. Anyhooo cheers for your input cause I got the neck die working on the Remington brass so necked those and trimmed the whole lot and just finished de burring it all so back into the ultrasonic cleaner Tommorow to clean out the primer pockets. Then primers powder and projectiles

 95.5 this week half a kg increase. Dammit. That blowout I had last week caught up with me.
ive not paid attn to your goings on slips. BUT from what i understand, you lose alot at first due to waterweight. you gain sometimes, when you build muscle mass. that may be something to consider. after all there are no light weight body builders Eh? :thumb:
