If only my resin went hard!!! Ha!

My patch did work out ok though, in fact better than the rest of the mould because I used packing tape 

Being much thinner and easier to shape, it moulded much closer to the shape of the seat... compare it to the opposite side using duct tape...



So... I'm starting from scratch... gonna fill the hollows up in the front with cardboard, tape it all up with packing tape, and do it again. This time I'll also mould the whole seat pan and then I'll build the foam on top of the pillion area which should be easier than making the foam match the mould.

It also means I'll be moulding the seat latch area which should make locating that a hell of a lot easier too.



I'll be sparing everyone the mental imagery... I will *not* be fibreglassing in the nude!!!!

It is indeed very shiny. I'll enjoy it a hell of a lot more then this rain buggers back off to hell and the roads aren't quite so slippery.

Normally I would say harden up Malf! .. real riders go out in all conditions! .... but I've seen some of the tarry grooves left by the trucks out your way! ... for which you would need a bloody snowmobile! ........ so you're excused for now!

Six layers of matting cut out...



Three layers applied... shape at the rear is not important, just as long as I get the seat latch location.

Separated it from the seat last night... I believe the phrase winner winner chicken dinner is appropriate 



Time to add another three layers for strength then start building up the foam on top of the pillion area.
