Did the Iron Butt once.  My whole body ached for 2 days.
Did it on a bone stock GS.
Indy -> Nashville, TN -> Chattanooga, TN -> Dayton, OH -> Indy.

Jester, that's nuts.
My dressed DL1000 is soft as silk on the highway and after about 5 or 6 hours of road time I'm completely toasted. I couldn't fathom Iron-Butt conditions on a bone stock GS.
You must have been completely limp by the time you got back to Indy. and

Range of the tank was usually how far I could ride my GS back in the day

And that if he'd write a letter of condolance he would at least spell your name right.

Whilst strolling alongside the Nerang River this morning I noticed a Muslim extremist slip from the riverbank and fall into the water .
He was struggling to stay afloat because of all the explosives he had been carrying.
If he didn't get help he'd surely drown.
Being a responsible Aussie, and abiding by the law of the land that requires you to help those in distress, I informed the Nerang Police, the Immigration Office and even the SES Rescue team.
It is now 4 p.m., he has drowned, and neither authorities have yet responded.
I'm starting to think I wasted three stamps.
I am not interested in anything you have to say
Don't bother talking to me, I will not answer you

Why

Bucket list, to say I did it, and bragging rights.

You know me by now Slips...a bit extreme to say the least.  My next challenge is coordinating the GS500 Relay around America.  Like what Australia did, but obviously on a larger scale.

There once was a man from Nantucket,
Who's d!ck was so long he could suck it,
He said with a grin, as he wiped off his chin,
"If my ear was a cvnt, I'd fvck it!"

3-posts in a row.   :woohoo:

EJ, let's just say that after the Iron Butt, I could hardly move the next day.  I had to get up and ride home to Cincinnati 125 MORE miles.  No throttle rocker, no cruise control, no frills.  Just me, the machine, and a sore ass.

It was all good until the sun went down.  Temperature dropped 20 degrees.  The last 300 miles were the worst since I was not as prepared as I thought.

What does not kill me will make me stronger.

Two items here...

1.) Not to blow my own horn but...
My protective gear is easily worth more than what a lot of people paid for their bike.
Just sayin'

2.) That No Squidding link was cool.
Never saw that one before.
