Another top ten gif post from CBR.
That thing was mesmerizing.

Too bad they couldn't figure out a way to put a gif on a tee shirt.  O0

I haven't checked the valve clearance on my DL1000 in 5 years.
Now it idles like crap.

My Son says; "do it now, before the exhaust valves are burnt"

I say; Down-time is annoying, Simply crank up the idle adjustment screw and ride on!

Down time is definitely annoying EJ... but I suspect your down time will be slightly increased if you let the exhaust valves burn out  :technical:

Eight solid hours of removing plastics, crash bars, electrical crap, and hoses.
Then the damn cooling system has to be drained and the radiator removed...

And the actual valve adjustment is barely 20 minutes to do. :icon_rolleyes:

Oh yeah, then another ten hours to put all the fancy plastic, hoses, wires, and gizmos back on the bike, plus sync the throttle bodies, etc...

Hahahahah nice EJ... mate at work who I ride with just got a DL and yeah some of the design ideas are a little... err... awkward!

He's used to big Beemer adventure bikes and was astounded to find to change the front wheel he needs to remove a fork leg... wouldn't wanna have to do that in the bush!

Yeah... awkward. That's polite. A DL1000 is an odd beast indeed.
So after all that bullcrap and worrying about burning valves on the Vee... the valve-lash was actually fine. :technical:

While I was in there I. . .
-Calibrated the Primary throttle position sensor.
-Calibrated the Secondary throttle position sensor.
-Did a Re-sync on the throttle bodies.
-Replaced a tired looking injector feed hose.
-Tidied up some under-cowl wiring & electrical runs.
