Dodgy pods back on because the carbs are now lifted back where they belong, so the right hand stack hits the frame rail 

Will hopefully shorten them 20mm or so this weekend which will let me get them back on again.

So the catch now is that my fueling will once again be way off in the meantime with those horrible pods on there so I actually won't know if I've solved the issue until I get the stacks back on...

Shortened the stacks last night... now I can't get them to clamp down again because I now need to clamp the tapered section and the clamps I have are too wide 

Dodgy pods are staying on in the meantime...

On another note... persistence paid off yesterday and the shortened velocity stacks are back on...

And another note... been distracted from the workbench clean up so it's still a big mess...

Last note... service time for the 450 this coming weekend, thinking if the valve clearances are in spec then the 500 camshafts will go in.

Pic's will follow once the workbench is cleaned up (maybe tonight if I'm keen?) and I will try to remember to get a shot of the reinstalled shortened stacks as well...

Oh, and another final note... I need to make up some sort of support for the carbs to stop them causing the boots to distort too...

Support for the carbs... the stock ones were so heavy that having them hanging with no support from the airbox distorted the carb boots over time. So I need to fab up some sort of mount to attach the carbs to the frame for support, don't want that happening again!

I think I may have my filter issue sorted, bought a sheet of this off eBay to make my own given the extremely small amount of space available:
