This shed is kicking my butt... went and got some drainage channel yesterday so that will sort the water issue, and started digging the trench for the electricity run from the house... 600mm doesn't sound like much but digging clay sucks!

The doors are driving me insane... the shed ended up on the slightest little incline off dead vertical, so opening the doors has them jamming into the concrete. Need to take them off and hang them again  :technical: :technical: :technical:

I knew trying to be fancy with a set of doors opening up to allow the shed to expand would bite me... turns out I was right!  :technical:

Day off the shed today so I can go riding, then back into it tomorrow... as long as I get the doors hung and drainage channel sorted then I can safely go back to work knowing the shed is sealed and I can start looking at the inside  :thumb:

600mm trench?? .. conduit along the fence or house and one single cross over section mate!! Easier to check/inspect later too!!

peteGS

Oh the trench isn't long, only goes directly from the house to the shed... less than 1.5 metres... it's just that 600mm's is a pig to dig in wet clay!

Shouldn't be long Yama, doors should be done today just in time to go back to work tomorrow...

Advice for clay (red here) ive used a spike to break it up first then to dig. great for stress relief and upper arm strength lol

The outside still needs paint, some trim, and drainage finished up but it's essentially done to a point where it's lockable... once that drainage is done it's useable for storage at least.

Once I have power sorted then I can finish up the inside and it's ready for use  :thumb:

And yep that does work a treat Yama! Although my arms don't feel it's a treat at all...

used a4ft spike to assist digging a porch foundation ( 12 of them 10"dia. and 4ft deep. in red clay. to place concrete tubes). i DESPISED red clay at that point. wet red clay is as slick as a babies bottom on a bad day, this one i hand parked my truck on it. hell it looked dry. it wasnt. insta stuck lol. friend and myself walked about 3 miles to get his truck to pull mine out. :technical:

Well they took almost as long to get about 15 km's from Brisbane airport to my house as they did from Wisconsin to Brisbane airport, but got my Kat forks yesterday  :thumb:

This weekend should be rolling chassis time so I can see what else I'm missing...

yamahonkawazuki

Ahhh good ol' Cods! 'Bout time he chipped in here... so I'll blame him then  :icon_razz:

Sorted through all my Mick Hone bits last night and labelled what part they belong to so I can just get to it and start assembly... I'm far too excited to stuff around finding what goes where first!!

Isnt that the fun but once all the ducks are in a row, and assembly can begin without pausing? or in my case id get a few bits, install... wait..... get a few bits ( repeat ) the story of frankenbike. lol. im impatient when i get to the wait section, or cant afford next piece, and MUST wait, i become impatient again lol. specially when i could start the engine and listen to it. that part sucked . made me even more impatient lol

Dentist appt done! -  checkup, xray, clean & fluoride treatment... by a lady dentist with a beautiful Edinburgh accent! ...... fee = no gap on the health fund card! :woohoo:

Its only been a decade! :icon_lol:

Teeth feel weird! All slippery and bumpy! :thumb:

peteGS

I hear that Yama, fortunately I think I'm about 75 - 80% done with the big stuff. Just need to get all that loosely assembled on the frame so I can ascertain where I'm at, I haven't even been able to assess the condition of the engine at all yet. Still need to check out the crank, gearbox, barrels, etc. before I know where that's at.

The fun of the dentist Janx! I go every six months but my health fund doesn't pay all of it of course... legalised black mail I tell ya'!

gonna be SICK man!  good luck on the tank.
I'll have no idea what piece you're referring to unless you include one of the following: Doobly doo, thing-a-ma-jigger, or dibbledy dop.

Electrojake

Current Stable: Suzuki DL1000k6, a Grom, two 70's vintage PUCH mopeds, and my kid's WR250R

peteGS

Haha cheers!!!! Did some more on the tank... starting to begin thinking it was wishful thinking that it was starting to budge... but I shall persevere some more and see where it ends up.

I did start on the motor last night though, crank rotates smoothly and clutch cover came off with no dramas  :thumb:

That dent puller. .. got metal structure inside that plastic/nylon frame? ..

The location of that ding with the rollover edges involved is going to take more pressure than if it was a flat panel! .. quite a bit more pressure!!
