Bah!
Yama, I got a dang cold.  :technical:
The wife is doing a little better though.
Thanks for the Christmas blessings in the email.

Waiting to see if peteGS got his favorite wet sanding paper from Santa Clause  :woohoo:
And send me a link to the 2018 New Years resolution thread. That should be a fun read once it gets started.

Nope no sandpaper for chrissy but that's ok coz I got enough in the shed already :D

Hope to get back in the swing of things soon, another long weekend coming up and hopefully this one can be productive.

I'm keen to not just finish the sanding but to get the Kat out of the shed for the first time in months and give it and the shed a much needed clean so I can get on with other things.

gruntle

Just back from a 400 mile round trip to Mablethorpe.
It was cold and loads of snowy roads on the way home, no slithers tho, 5.5 hrs of riding constantly into the sun on diamond gleaming roads... couldn't even read road signs they were just siloohuoettes... EffiN' chilly, uggghhh!
Now just nommed a pizza and lit the fire, hot bath next wiv' a brandy for fun...
happy seasonals to all,
grunts

i remember riding my HD to work in december. many times. around 30f or colder. but it was only 6 miles or so. but frig i still arrived a popsicle. even with trashbags stuffed within my leathers. i would start and warm up bike, then go inside and put gear on which strangle sounding also included rubber gloves worn inside my riding gloves. blocked wind

I frequently dont ride in the summer because of the heat.
I frequently dont ride in the winter because of the salt & calcium chloride on the roads.
I think I need to move.

I ride more in the dead of winter than the sweltering heat of summer.
But these brutal-cold temps we been having take the joy out of riding.

28*F (-2*C) with a light breeze, no problem, will ride, and no bugs too!

6*F (-14*C) and gusty winds, Forget it.

When daytime temp in the summer hit the mid 90's (35*C) I only ride at night, in spite of all the damn bug hits.

Thanks for asking. :D

I should've perhaps not ridden yesterday... had to make a last minute dash to the bottleshop, not that I was in a particular hurry, but I didn't notice the line of oil trough the corner. The result was inevitable with a dented left header, broken clutch lever, bent left footpeg, and scored muffler. I'm sure there's more but I don't know that I want to look. At least I was able to get the clutch lever functional enough to continue to get the bottle of (then much needed) Scotch and back home again.

Left knee copped a bit of a bash but thankfully the Draggin Jeans did their job and it's only some bruising and a material burn from where they rubbed across the skin, could've been oh so much worse.

Let's hope 2018 has none of that!  :nono:

Good thing you ate the pavement 'before' you were carrying the booze!  :whisper:

We'll be looking for a follow up report on this "off" event and road rash.
