scratch

#8640
Personal update: still riding the same purple GS; 65,500 miles total, No.1 cylinder exhaust valve is on the thinnest shim, and I will not be doing the work myself this time, except maybe to take off the head, but I need to remember to call the shop to see if I can still get a new exhaust valve, guide and possibly valve seat.

I tried putting on a Givi top-box using a carrier mount from Twisted Throttle (https://www.twistedthrottle.com/sw-motech-alu-rack-toprack-suzuki-gs500e-05-gs500f-04-for-givi-hepco-becker-krauser-topcases) that is meant for the newer model GS, and bent the grab-rail mounting part of the frame, then bent it back.  Now I have a top rack that I cannot use.
The motorcycle is no longer the hobby, the skill has become the hobby.

Power does not compare to skill.  What good is power without the skill to use it?

Lol been there scratch. You have a piece of hardware that pretty much the only thing you can do is stare at it.

btw found a random youtube video that kind of explains why a good body shop charges what they charge. this was very informative.

LMFAO check this out.

Just got back from visiting a friend in Pennsylvania ( coatesville area near amish country ) , hell going there, delay after delay. 4 hour initial along with many more. as the clip on the train video i upload will close with, greyhounds motto used to be leave the driving to us. now it should be " broken down, and likely late" uploading to youtube, that video. its hellishly long. at 1 hour and 13 minutes or so. at 1080p. so that will run overnight.

have to save up for now. trying to get into a handicapped accessible condo. found one based on income. pre-emptively got approved. waiting on final approval. anyhoo, there will be more traion trips. with better camera work. btw iirc the train trip is LONG. i didnt catch charloptte arrival. it was 9pmtrain left at 9am arrived in charlotte nc about 9pm..ish. next trip im recording the entire thing perhaps. but this 10gb upload took 30 hours nearly. as i was saying. a bit after leaving union station ( washington dc, if my gps on phone was accurate, i clocked 126mph, which i dont doubt. those tracks werent made for htis. it was rough at times. remember the amtrak wreck year or two back, it was on same route. we were doing around 80.
excuse my spelling. i figured what is hte problem. https://www.mayoclinic.org/diseases-conditions/dupuytrens-contracture/symptoms-causes/syc-20371943

Yama that Winnebago is hilariously cool... that would be a fun troll in traffic! Takes the concept of a sleeper to a whole new level...

I've been doing... well bugger all bike related really. Weather's been no good for painting and not much other progress done.

Engine bits are hung up in anticipation of painting weather next weekend...

Still gotta mask the cylinders off and give them all a good go over with wax and grease remover yet.

Fairly smoothly with a few issues sounds like a pretty good success story for moving  :thumb:
