So there is a guy selling a GS500 sport on craigslist and it's bone stock he claims.  It's the naked version and I'm confused because I thought only the F model was made after 2004.  Anybody know how this bike got into the states?  LOL

Clean looking bike, but not stock... Missing fairings and Signals are not OEM either...
Also not overseas bike because those non faired bikes don't come with an oil cooler or holes for fairing mounts in the frame, and I was thinking headlight bucket is supposed to be black with chrome rim ring...

I call :bs: rear fender has been cut, the Suzuki engine cover looks to be dimpled, signals aren't original and I believe it once had fairing. Can't tell but the front brake lever may have a bit of extra curve to it? Seems a bit high priced to me.

adidasguy

Yes, fender chopped. Signals after market. Brake lever looks bent a little.
I detect 2 holes where a fairing bracket went. Maybe those holes were there on a naked model so they only make one frame?

Is it possible it was Canadian?

If fixed after going down, it was a very VERY good repair. It looks far too clean to have been wrecked.

I still believe it is over priced. But lately, GS500's in Seattle have become really expensive. Maybe because there are no new 500's on the market. The CBR500 isn't available yet.

i still think the prices are high where you are because people have heard 'theres this guy that just keeps buying GS's man!! , he's like the local collector of all things GS500!!.... you can make some $$' ...  ;) :flipoff:

adidasguy

Ahhhh - I just noticed the dent in the gas tank - middle at the frame.
Still, the fix-up was done correctly for the headlight.

:bs: Thats an F model for sure. Fairings removed.
I am not interested in anything you have to say

Its a F model, oil cooler and frame fairing bracket hole location should be the give away.. It was probably dumped and fairings removed or just did not like fairings and sold them. I bought mine just like this except it had the front stock fairing on it with out the sides. He had them in a closet( he did not like fairings).

There are silver and black buckets.

and HEY - I SAW the holes for the fairing brackets first.  :flipoff: :flipoff: :flipoff: :flipoff:

And no one mentioned no decals on the tail?

Though stock 2009 "E" model did not have oil cooler. No holes for fairing. So definitely this is a bastardized "F" model.

Here's a 2005 "E". Stock did have a black bucket.

Ahh I see that. They are new replacements.
This bike has been crashed before IMO
I would steer clear at the current owner is either a big fat fibber or has no idea what he is talking about :whisper:

This shows up in the Cincinnati.craigslist.org/mcy query all the time.

A bit overpriced if you ask me.  I bought my 2009 for $3499 new.  It had all plastics too.  Just sayin'
Bikeless and Broke at the moment...
