Broke a piece off my carb - what is it?

So I took the carbs off my '06 GS500F to rejet and clean them. When putting everything back together I noticed I broke the plastic nub off the piece highlighted in the picture. Does anyone know what that hose is for and if it's needed? The hose runs down to a sensor of some kind that is underneath the float bowl.

I haven't been able to find it on any of the diagrams on the wiki. This is a canadian bike if it makes any difference.

I suppose. I took them apart to see what was inside - really! I did that about 2 years ago. I think toogoofy has the carb drain screws. Someone else has the slides. Someone else has one cap.
So sure - you can have the whole box-o-stuff if you want it.
$20 sound OK?
