Two Up Without Rear Fairings?

Hey guys,

I just bought my first bike, a 2005 GS500F that has had all the fairings removed (for whatever reason). I really like how it looks without the fairings, but without anything supporting the seat, I can't have any passengers. I've looked into getting replacement rear fairings, but I was wondering if anyone knows about any third party fairings/frames or anything that I could use to support the seat without having to get new fairings.

Here's a pic:

The fairing does not support the seat really.  Just get on and ride it, I say.

Looks like the a$$ end of the bike frame has been chopped?
No 2 up riding for you until you replace and weld the missing frame or you will bust the seat and lose/kill the passenger.
I am not interested in anything you have to say
Don't bother talking to me, I will not answer you

Really! I was assuming the fairings had some sort of extra frame that screwed on or something. I didn't realize the previous owner chopped up the frame! Damn. That makes things more complicated, huh?

Yep... Chop job. There is a bracket behind the seat mount that helps support the passenger. I'd be inclined not to put someone on there. Risk of the rear part of the seat bending or breaking, possibly resulting in the loss of a passenger.

How much do you love her?  Maybe this would be a good way to break up.

Well unless it would make it faster....

I think he was just going for the street fighter look and did a pretty decent Job of it. You could well your own support for the passenger seat on the sub frame and be good. Not all hope is lost.
I am into buying bikes that people have given up on and fixing them up!

RIP Patrick Lajko, I miss you man.

Oh totally. It's not even an option. Any weight on the seat at all and it bends 45 degrees.

About that bracket: Is this something I can replace? Do you have any pictures of it so I can look online for a replacement?

Thanks for the help!

The bracket is not something you can buy. If the rear frame has been chopped, you need to replace the frame OR get a used frame, cut off the correct tail and cut yours off and weld the correct tail on.

Here is the correct tail. Front is the "F" model. Silver in the back is the "E" model.

Front fender is chopped. Suzuki side covers on case are missing.. I bet this one went down and this was the solution.. I could be wrong.

Is it straight?

Looks prtty good though and not so far changed that you cant get it back for 2 up riding.
