Not quite. See China copies our stuff and makes it incredibly cheap and crappy. Australia took muscle cars to a new level. Then USA pulled a China by taking Australian designs and making them cheap and crappy. See: GTO.
This GTO?

Or this GTO?

Or even this GTO?

Assembled in Baltimore, MD, my home town.
Here is my buddies Tempest....not this one but his is looks exactly the same minus the stupid DUBS.

nah.. think he means THIS 'GTO' ..

... i agree pliskin... the old ones ARE cool... the new ones... while powerful.... are soul-less and bland ... in standard form anyway

The one that's an Australian design. Did you miss that part? GM took this awesome machine:

and shat out this worthless POS, one of the biggest disappointments of all time:

Back inn the day (the 80"s) when I was a hellion. All my friends and I had 60's/70's muscle cars.
My buddy that still has the tempest had a Plymouth Satellite like this one. His dad was a mechanic and he always got his son the coolest cars. His dad drove a Trans Am like this. My buddy and his dad where dipped in shift when it came to driving. They can drive a car like nobody I have ever met. His dad drove that TA like Burt Reynolds in Smokey And The Bandit.

My other buddy had a red 66 GTO like this. He still has it but it's not so nice anymore.

Another bud had Mustang just like this. In high school he was always bragging how he would smoke my Chevelle. He never did....that Stang never ran right.
So he got this Dodge Dart. That was no contest for the chevelle

And here is my first car. Well actually it was my mom and dads. Again just like this but with the factory wheels (this Malibu has SS wheels on it). I miss that car. When it got old and rusted out they offered to sell it to me for $500 bucks. I said, are you kidding me 5 bills for that clunker? I wish I would have took them up on the offer.

Instead I spent my money on this Plymouth Horizon TC3. I will say it was no slouch. I outran 3 cops in Crown Vics one night.

Here is the Shelby Charger Turbo version

I wish I could forget this car. The only new car I've owned. 89 Dodge Daytona....pure junk.

I got this next, a 1970 Cadillac Fleetwood Brougham. It was a TANK! 472ci V8 gas guzzling land yacht monster. Mine was exactly like this one only not as shiny. I had to dump a half gallon of gas in the carb just to start it in the winter. I paid an old lady $400 bucks for it in 1998.

Then I got one of these 84 Volvo 244 GLT turbo. It was heavy as a tank and really fast. Another car I wish I never sold.

Sold the Volvo and got this. A 94 Ford Tunderbird.

I really miss those old cars. They don't make them like that anymore. When/if my 4Runner ever dies I'm going to buy an old restored muscle car and drive it as my daily driver. Shift, for 15 or 20 grand I can have a real car that will last for at least another 10 years. Or I can spend 30 grand on a new piece of junk that will last 5.

depends on your Brand loyalty Yama....

yes they are nice cars...

yes they are powerful...

yes they handle fairly well and ride pretty smooth...

No they have no soul!!.. standard form = bogan sketchy burnout machine!! or 'look at me i have money to throw about'

compared to the passion the old school muscle instils they ARE POS!!

get one of the HSV firebreathing enhanced/advanced models and they are good!

much the same as the Ford products... all the standard versions are just so DAMN BEIGE!!!! ... you have to get into the upper echelons of factory/aftermarket enhancement before they really become worthy!!  :icon_rolleyes:

Right. So let me just head on over to the nearest used car lot and pick up our version of the HSV Coupe GTS. Not the image I linked to, but you get the idea. Don't pretend like you guys didn't get to have more fun with that car than we did.

Ahh yea, Mad Max. That's one of my all time fav's. Last of the V8 Interceptors. I would love to have a KZ1000 like Goose had.

One day I will own one of these. I came close to pulling the trigger last year but held off because it was not the year I wanted.

THANKS RICHARD
