I am in need of a 2.40 or 2.35 or 2.30 valve shim, im desperate as i have had my bike sitting for years since i bought it not working, slowly trying to get it to work and still haven't ridden it. Some success though i got it running but not too well so i am working on the valve shim adjustment.  I have a 2.60 or 2.70 shim to trade. Anyone in my area interested? Costa Mesa California.

Hi there,
You know, honestly, a shim is cheap at your local dealer and they often take them in trade.
That's not a good enough reason to keep your bike off the road, man.  :)
Good luck,

I just ordered a set from this place (from the wiki) a few days ago. http://www.newmotorcycleparts.com/motor_parts/valve_shims.html

Local motorcycle store barely knew what a shim was (??) not to mention that I needed the 29.5mm vs the 29mm.

Sorry for the late reply, I believe my total order ended up around $33 including shipping for 4 shims.  I still need 2 shims, so I actually contacted this guy over at the gs resources website, I bought 2 shims for $13 shipped http://gstwins.com/gsboard/index.php?topic=52480.0

I think once you're in with their system, you can trade shims in and out for a nominal fee.
