gauge issue

Mph gauge stays at 0 doesn't move at all and the rpm gauge is wild it seems like it registers a little and just swings back and forth what are some possible ways to fix this

For the speedo:
Make sure both ends of the cable are tight. If that works  :thumb: , if not then unhook from the back of the gauge and slowly push the bike forward and see if the inner part of the cable rotates.

If the cable isn't rotating than the cable either needs to be lubed or the speedo drive on the wheel is bad.

Now for the tachometer:
If it is a mechanical tach, follow the same steps above except instead of pushing the bike forward, start it up to see if the cable spins. If the cable doesn'tspin try lubing it.

If you have a digital tach (01+ or 04+ bikes, i cant remember when they switched them) check the connection of the signal wires for the tach.
