Speedo cable routing question

I have this optional clip on my speedo cable which I disconnected during a fork service, and now I don't know where it goes!

It's just hanging out right now, and the service manual doesn't show where it connects since they apparently stopped using this clip in later years.  Anyone know where this clip connects?

Looks like it belongs on the fork brace.

I figured as much but it seemed weird to not have that screw on the fork brace in all the way.  So I wanted to confirm!
