That GS/gsxr hybrid is very interesting, I enjoyed reading about it however it might be a little to far away from the original engine for me. Has anyone on here got any experience building tuned length exhausts for the GS?

I thought you guys might be interested to see this. GS500 based, built in my garage and raced at the Pendine Sands Speed Trials last month!

Interesting looking bike!  (and with no rear shocks.. painful looking too ;) )

one thing though: if it's "built for speed"... wouldnt it help to put some kind of fairing on it?

He's probably running a No-Aero class.  They are cheaper on the pocket.

Be aware, this is not very wise advise!

Watch this space on the aero front, its currently in the workshop having lights etc added for an not but this winter I'll do some work on the aerodynamics!

Just found this on my PC, nearly finished here, only missing its front calipers by he look of it. As soon as I have the lights on it and an MOT ill post some more pics in its road legal clothes!

very cool! Performance wise with the GS you can achieve around 550cc using some kawasaki GPZ pistons (i think) you will find it pretty quickly on a search. I'm not sure on the availability on them anymore but wiseco used to do them.

Good Job

We had an older member round the time i joined here in 2003 took a gsxr600 engine, shaved the outer two cylinders off. and raced it. the staff here, mainly kerry, buddha pandy and pablo will know of this one. But my friend, i WILL follow this. this was a gorgeous pic

Actually, it was a GSX-R head mated to the GS500 cylinders and bottom end. Not that there was much left of the original GS500 engine, other than the tranny, oiling system, and cases. He had a custom crank, rods, pistons, etc.
