I thought you guys might be interested to see this. GS500 based, built in my garage and raced at the Pendine Sands Speed Trials last month!

I am not interested in anything you have to say
Don't bother talking to me, I will not answer you

Thats pretty interesting. Awesome picture. Why did you choose to do the GS? Just messing around with what you had? Or do you like the motor?
I am into buying bikes that people have given up on and fixing them up!

RIP Patrick Lajko, I miss you man.

It's a nice air cooled twin, the regs were pretty 1990 air cooled so it fitted in quite nicely. I'm looking into building a more powerful one for next year, anyone know anything about tuning these engines?

check with the posters in this thread http://gstwins.com/gsboard/index.php?topic=57972.20

Be aware, this is not very wise advise!

Janx101

Looks pretty cool mang!

So.. How'd ya do?? Size up well with your competitors?
if yer binders ain't squeakin, you ain't tweakin!

We ran 100mph from a standing start over 5/8th of a mile on sand, fastest was a Spondon gixxer turbo at 140mph so we didn't do to bad, there were Brough Superiors there, a methanol burning Triumph, a super charged Indian and a Vincent streamliner among others, proper cool stuff!

Beardyben

A couple of build photo's, in case anyone is interested.

That's really cool!  :thumb:

... The exhaust can.. Just a modified assembly right at the header spot! ...  :D ... How noisy is that?! Lol ... I Understand its for weight saving.... But I don't reckon other "a loud exhaust is a good exhaust" aficionados around here have anything in noise compared to that!! ..... Heheheh  :thumb:

I ran out of time with the exhaust, I just reasoned that the shorter the better for running flat out wouldn't be to far wrong, it will coming off this winter for a tuned length header once I have done the maths! It isn't anywhere neat as loud as I had feared, many louder bikes on the road.

We had an older member round the time i joined here in 2003 took a gsxr600 engine, shaved the outer two cylinders off. and raced it. the staff here, mainly kerry, buddha pandy and pablo will know of this one. But my friend, i WILL follow this. this was a gorgeous pic
