hi guys first post thought would give symptoms and my plans.    first big bike

bought the bike 400miles away GLASGOW noticed it had no power at around 5k revs and around 65mph, i naturally presumed that  it had a restricter on the bike and i would remove the next day. whilst a one of many fuel stops(too many) a fellow biker noticed my silencer was glowing like a volcano. i thought maybe its being restricted somehow causing pressure etc.... bike now has 7900m on clock legit

next day i could see that the internal of the exhaust had colapsed (thought will just put a slip on)
choke wasnt working
took plugs out left was normal right black i was happy as pointed at over rich so at least better mpg when done, realised no spark on right plug the black one. wire was off coil replaced fired up lovely albeit with lots smoke (mate says brown, dirty) after few runs it stopped smoking just a little bit, but as its running rich and dodgy exhaust and plugs need cleaning then not really an issue.

i have not yet checked the air filter as i want to replace the fuel lines as im smelling petrol and the over flow (breather?) is perished. just not sure what the pipes need to be, nitral? or butyl  both on ebay was going to ask a mechanic today or tomorrow  and order.

regarding the fuel/air systems once exhaust is sorted i will balance the carbs to give a good base point then look at the jets il go bit lean on it as its just for commuting till i gain enough experience to get an  r6.

choke now working idling too fast just over 1.5k (suspect that the previous owner did not realise running on one cylinder and played with screws, thus high idle and poor mpg)

ordered 12mm adaptor for compression tester to check both sides, will sort fuel lines as soon as i measure the originals. then need to pastic weld crack in rear under seat fairing and replace clutch lever (its broken its ball off, want green or blue ones bike is black n naked), picking up paddock stand from mate on wednesday or thursday then will clean and degrease bike and re ptfe chain n sprockets. going to powder coat hangers etc and little bits bout time i used the powder coater i bought at christmas............

appreciate any advice guys looking forward to enjoying the bike.....

ps regarding the exhaust k4 so has the cat in pipe going from 45mm after 2in1 to 56mm i see that older r6 fit albeit rubbing on swing arm but if  i cut the pipe back after 2in1 to 45mm part will the distance from hanger be ok? could try find someone with benders and tweak the pipe to get off the fouling of swing arm?
