Just want to let everyone know I'm now a happy owner of a 1990 GS500!!  I'm very happy this site is available, it has given me a lot of info on GS500s and helped in my decision to buy one!

See you on the road . . . . . . . . . if it ever thaws here in Michigan

The motorcycle is no longer the hobby, the skill has become the hobby.

Power does not compare to skill.  What good is power without the skill to use it?

I live in Clio MI, which is about 20 minutes north of Flint, which is about 1 hour northwest of Detroit.

If I had to guess I'd say I'm a good 2 - 2.5 hours from you including the trip across the bridge/tunnel.

Stephan,

 I'm originally from Montrose!

Congrats on the bike, though. Take this time to do the maintaince stuff, change the oil, such like that. As long as you have a garage that is, and hopefully some sorta heater.  :thumb:

Hey, tell you what. There are some pretty ok twisties down McKinley road just north of M-57. Not a lot, mind you, since it's pretty flat around there, but not too bad. Might be kinda fun to take the bike up there when it thaws a bit. I used to take my parent's subaru up there when they weren't paying attention.
