Oil cooler from GS500F on GS500E (96-03); Is it really that simple?

I'm sorry if it's the wrong section, I'm new and i don't know English very well D:

Hi everyone! I'm going to buy a GS500 naked, because with Italian driving licenses i can't have more of 35.0kw and the F model has 35.1   :2guns: But i prefer faired bikes and I'd like put some fairings on my gs500 :D

The problem is the oil cooler system, I want to install the GS500F oil cooling system (pan, pipes and oilcooler), will it fit/will it work?

Thanks!

Weedahoe is correct. The problem is that the actual engine cases are different for the oil cooler system. So you would need the bottom end of a GS500F engine.

It's opener there in the wide open air...

Extremely expensive exercise to convert an E to an F with all the trimmings....i would look elsewhere or simply buy an E.

Well, you COULD get the TCP or FiveStars GS500-E fairing.
In Europe, you should be able to find them all over now. TCP (in Spain) closed up shop in March. That means places will probably dump their inventory. They show up used on ebay all the time.

It is a pretty nice fairing. I found a couple in the UK and shipped them to the USA. No oil cooler required.

Thanks to all!

Uff... So it isn't that simple! Are you sure those fairings don't need the oil coooler system?

The oil cooler is needed cos the fairings restrict air flow....most other bikes with fairings are water cooled.

Well, the "E"s never had oil cooler AND there was a fairing AND I have a fairing on Junior (1992 "E" model) and all is just fine.
Don't want to start a pissing match or stuff, but you are in Europe and the "E"  fairing was sold a lot over there so....... why not go for it?
